Ross Perot ’53 received the Sylvanus Thayer Award from
the U.S. Military Academy’s Association of Graduates for
being an outstanding citizen whose service and
accomplishments exemplify personal devotion to their motto,
“DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY.”

Two
Soccer Players Receive Patriot League Accolades
 Midshipman
Shelly Moeller ’10, center back, was named defensive
player of the week for the third time this season, and
Midshipman Beth Reed ’10, team captain, was named
goalkeeper of the week for the second time in her Navy
career by the
Patriot League.

Midshipmen
Work With Israel Defense Force
 Last
summer, 11 Midshipmen spent three
weeks in Israel, visiting major holy and historical
sites while learning about the political structure, IDF
military structure and service and daily life of citizens.

is daunting to restore icon, but the Academy’s beacon of
light reopened
its polished doors once more to reveal an astonishing
restoration effort inside thanks to many private gifts given
